Position Summary


  • Planning and managing projects with high complexity and/or sub-projects in higher-value projects according to project standards set by client and Oceaneering
  • Responsible for planning and managing technology and human resources within large projects
  • Performing project audits
  • Selecting and substantiating the optimum solution for systematic and early identification of project risks as well as for avoiding/eliminating risks at a contractual, commercial and technical level, taking into account future developments and the impact on the overall project
  • Implementing best practice approaches for improving project management performance
  • Evaluating offers and solution concepts
  • Conduct negotiations and carry out consulting when needed
  • Audit methods and processes regarding PM methodology and bring changes to improve quality and cost effectiveness
  • Report high level on project status and SLAs to high level clients (potentially CEO level)
  • Quickly gain extensive/in-depth knowledge of processes and structures within Oceaneering and apply to projects
  • Act as a role model in the application of different contracting approaches and understand the commercial impact on clients and Oceaneering
  • Designing and further developing project management standards, methods and processes


  • Influences mission-critical decisions within department

Duties & Responsibilities


  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years work experience or equivalent education and experience
  • At least 2 years experience managing customers accounts in the energy sector with a focus on IT services
  • Must have experience leading projects with budgets of $10 Million or higher
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification
  • Has proven record of Stakeholder Management both internally and externally to CEO
  • Has been part of a contract award or re-negotiation
  • Has directly line managed people with experience of performance management of small sized teams and can demonstrate the ability to deal with difficult situations when required
  • Has built up a network both within the organization, and externally, to ensure program


  • ITIL Foundation or Higher

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Has the confidence to communicate effectively to the customers' project managers and senior stakeholders
  • Has been part of a contract award or re-negotiation
  • Experience in creating a quality conscious environment in multiple projects
  • Ability to complete complex/reporting for, and is competent at presenting these, at CEO level
  • Has experience in cost and budget management at a senior level with the ability to manage a high degree of change
  • Has experience of motivating program teams within a matrix in order to deliver a
  • Has exposure to managing conflict within a project or program
  • Ability to conduct productive client meetings which produce clear action item
  • Ability to use risk analysis and evaluation techniques on large complex projects
  • Extensive understanding of the strategic impact on a project’s schedule, such as technology, design, finance, planning approvals, project phasing, resource availability start-up requirements etc
  • Proficent at MS Office Project MS Word, MS Excel, and Smartsheets
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.

  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night
  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place
