Position Summary

Responsible for designing medium to large size complex LAN/WAN, WiFi, cloud, and telephony multi-tenant environments for the Global Data Solutions (GDS) global data network and seeing them through build and into implementation. Also, responsible for maintenance of the GDS global data network.

Duties & Responsibilities


  • Analyze business, customer network and solution requirements to develop network framework and solutions.

  • Development of technology roadmaps and path to transformation of customers and GDS infrastructure.

  • Develop, design, and execute network, security, and telephony standards for standard operating procedures.

  • Consult and develop Operating Policies and goals based on executive and customer road-maps and requirements.

  • Design, test, and inspect current network solutions to present network recommendations for best practices, transformation, and compliance.

  • Manage technology vendors and quotes for production requirements.

  • Assess vendor solutions and specifications to determine use case and integration of solutions for production direction.

  • Work directly with project teams and/or customers to determine design and quotes for network solutions.

  • Define and write objectives and standards for deployment and delivery of complex network solutions from initial design, configurations, factory activation testing, and post installation support.

  • Lead and assist with complex network troubleshooting resolution.

  • Maintain and create documentation for database of solutions, testing results, vendor specifications, network drawings, and support contracts.

  • Perform hardware and software upgrades of GDS and customer networks.



  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent education and experience

  • 5-10 years working as lead on Data, Wireless, VoIP and Security technologies

  • 5-10 years experience directly working with customer and client technical teams

  • Minimum 5 years designing network infrastructure

  • Minimum 5 years in IPv4 and IPv6 subnetting and multi-tenant global routing

  • Minimum 5 years designing global call routing with on Cisco VG, CME, CUE, and CCM.


  • Bachelor Degree and Certification preferred.

  • Prefer ITIL V3 Certification and direct implementation of practices

  • Prefer Project Management Certifications PRINCE 2 or PMP
