Position Summary

Responsible for the effective provision and operation of inspection systems and services to the allocated Assets/ sites. To ensure that civil/structural facilities are certified in accordance with Oceaneering and Client codes of practice, strategies and legislation ensuring feedback of results to client Asset Group.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

  • Ensure regulatory and client standard compliance

  • Support Line Manager (LM) in management of Oceaneering contract providing assurance on technical delivery and cost management

  • Support LM in production of Oceaneering Monthly Performance Management Report (Dashboard).

  • Responsible for the production andongoing management of the Asset Annual Inspection Plans and client planning process compliance.

  • Assist in the development of appropriate annual budget within designated area and manage the CTR (Cost, Time & Resource) process

  • Acountable for the technical content and schedule of the asset’s inspection plans

  • Accountable for ensuring timely execution of the defined inspection plan, co-ordinating with maintenance and site teams as required

  • Provide support to verification activities related to applicable Performance Standards

  • Assist with the implementation of an Integrity Risk Management Process, aligned to the client Risk Management Process

  • Ensure all work is complaint with relevant client engineering and safety standards and practices

  • Responsible for implementing the IQRO process

  • Maintain appropriate level of contact with asset teams and 3rd parties to ensure effective inspection and testing of onshore civil/structural facilities

  • Endorse inspection reports to ensure they comply with the relevant client technical practices

  • Provide management, guidance and direction to Oceaneering support personnel for the effective execution of the contract, including interfaces with Structural, Pipeline and Pressure Systems Engineers

NON-ESSENTIAL

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (or Civil sub-discipline: e.g. Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering) (E)

  • Ability to generate a team approach to workflow execution and problem solving (E)

  • Provide leadership, co-ordination or guidance to others (E)

  • Good communicator both written, verbal and technical to make complex terminology simple for the benefit of others (E)

  • Good client or support contractor relationship skills at various levels of seniority or diverse cultures (E)

DESIRED

  • Chartered Engineer as defined by the Engineering Council or equivalent (P)

  • ASME or CSWIP Plant Inspector Level 2 certification (P)

  • API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspector and API 570 Piping Inspection (P)

  • API 653 or EMMUA 159 Level 1 Tank Inspection certification, if position is for a landsite containing large storage tanks (P)

  • Offshore medical, BOSIET and MIST certification (P)

  • Confined Space Entry training (P)

Knowledge, Experience, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Minimum 5 years of specific experience related to the job description (E)

  • Building / facilities experience (P)

  • Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend technical drawings, codes and specifications (E)

  • Must be familiar with QA/QC systems and procedures (E)

  • The Inspection Engineer must be familiar with international codes and standards such as IBC, UBC, BS, ACI, ASTM,

AISC, and AASHTO (E)

  • Microsoft Office (E)

Working Conditions

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.

  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night

  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place

  • Work surface is stable (flat)
